1945 — 2023

Lloyd Jay Merino died peacefully at his home in Hooper, Utah on October 12, 2023 at the age of 78. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Jessen, his son David (Georgia) Merino, daughter Kathy (James) Oatfield, stepson Erik (Chan) Jessen, granddaughter Avery Jessen and brother Carl (Theresa) Merino. Lloyd was a proud member of the USMC serving multiple terms of duty in Vietnam followed by Active USMC Reserves, retiring after 23 years of service. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and readiness to help others whenever and however he could. He was a talented artist in stained glass, art framing, woodworking and folk art painting, decorating many pieces as cherished gifts for family members. He was an avid outdoorsman and generous man of heart and soul. Our sincere gratitude to the Intermountain HC Hospice team RN’s, aides, social workers and Chaplin for their tender care and caregiver support. In accordance with Lloyd’s wishes he was cremated under direction of the Neptune Society and his ashes scattered at sea.
