Rest in peace Dave or "Shaw" as we all used to refer to each other by last names. It sounds like you had a great life and a loving family.

Wayne or "Merrill"

David Shaw Wonderful to read of your great life's accomplishments and successes. Who knew back at Mound Fort in Mr. MAughn' s art class where our lives would take us. RIP with our other classmates until we're all together again to catch up.

I knew David from elementary school and yet when I read his obituary I was amazed at how little I really knew of him....like his service in Vietnam and his many creative talents.  He was one of the cutest and nicest boys from our long ago childhood....best wishes to his family.

I attended Lincoln School with David.

I remember that he was an excellent artist.  During class he was always drawing pictures of airplanes and they were very good......down to the tiniest minute details. .   In the 6th grade, he taught me how to construct a model airplane out of balsa wood.

David had a really funny sense of humor.  He sat behind me in the 6th grade, and he and David Morse always kept me laughing.  And Virl Osmond was our buddy also.

I recall that David became quite renown for making beautiful knife handles.   Does anyone know about this  ??

Sounds like he had a nice contented life.

I lost track of Dave for many years.  I remembered this picture that I think my Mom snapped in our kitchen as we were gathering one morning to walk to Mound Fort Jr.

L-to-R is me (Alan), Steve Smith, Steve Yorgason, Dave Shaw, Steve Faulkner, John Lefgren.

Dave was always a lot of fun.
